was wondering if anyone had an idea of what the shelf life of cricket crack is
could I store unused crack in the freezer or just a dark dry area

I'm not sure. But, it hasn't rotted on me. I had some for two months in a drawer. Good question, but I don't have it long enough for it to go bad hahaha.

Why would you message Chad from Tiki Tiki and Steve makes it? Just curious..

I received a pound of it, yesterday. I wanted to sample it with my gang. I have several colonies of various bugs and they all seem to be devouring it. I don't imagine it will last long enough to be an issue, but I am going to ask Steve about it.

Cricket Crack has a shelf life of around 6 months. It's organic, so like anything organic will degrade over time. You can store it in the fridge to keep longer, and keep the crickets away. Someone sent me a picture of a cricket that chewed a hole in the plastic to get to the crack. If he sees this, maybe he'll post picture. Too funny. If you freeze it you might kill the acidophilus, but everything else should be okay if frozen. I really try to make to order, so it's shipped out fresh weekly.

thank you for posting that info :D

So I ordered my first 1lb. batch the other and received today, i usually dont throw the gut load down until dark, but I had to see the hype. My crickets came out of hiding to eat this stuff. I've never seen crickets fight before, but they wrestle for it. Its pretty amazing.

Question is, if you want to throw in some veggies and cricket crack as dry gutload, do you seperate the two, do you put the crack on top of the veggies, mix it in? unsure.

You can do it both ways. I try to keep two seperate, to keep moisture away from crack. It's all organic so mold likes to grow on it if kept wet. I have a few turtle / tortoise keepers who use as a salad topper.

Nice Video Dave! :D

Yes, unless using another form of moisture (water, water crystals, water pillows) crickets will be thristy and eat fruit and veggies to get the moisture content from them.
