Crickets!

My girls are about 2 1/2 months or so old. I had been feeding the small size crickets and couldn't figure out the 8-10/day that everyone was feeding as mine were eating more than double that and still could and would have eaten more had I put more in. Well.... With my most recent bulk order I moved up to their most popular size, which they call a medium. Needless to say, now the feeding 10/day doesn't make me think everyone else must have been starving their crickets like I had at first!

I would feed my girl as much as she would eat in one sitting, not an all-you-can eat/bottomless days' supply. You might also try adding in other things, like flightless fruit flies, soldier fly larvae, fruits and veggies, hornworms, etc.

Yes, we have tried hornworms, which they loved but which was a bad experience in shipping, I ordered 12 and only a few arrived alive and of those only 4 were small enough for them to eat, the other couple that lived were huge. There is no nearby supplier-and by nearby, I mean within 50-100 miles of my house. I just got black solder larvae this time.... They don't cling to the branches like the hornworms did so they are in a small container on the bottom of the cage. We will see if they get eaten tomorrow! I'm hoping to get some more hornworms or some silk worms at the expo next weekend. And I put a different piece of fruit and some greens in each day, they have had no interest yet.

Try Josh's frogs for hornworms. I've had several really great shipments from them, and of all the places I've gotten bugs from, their return policy absolutely can't be beat. I lost a shipment of mealworms from them and it was entirely my fault, but they still replaced it at no charge.

I saw that they recently lowered their price on their Amazon site. :)
I might have to get a batch! The ones I have now are breeders, they've all outgrown being feeders. But my chams absolutely adore hornworms! I have a billion waxworms for treats, but hornworms are so much healthier for them.
