Cruella is no more

My female Veiled Chameleon, Cruella, died this morning. I don't know what happened, but I suspect that she was old as I do not have a clear indication of her age and she did look a bit on the old side when I got her.
Luckily she went quickly, I hope, as I found her dead in the cage this morning. My heart is sore, she might has been a bitch some days and just wanted to bite me, but she was my bitch and I loved her.
I will miss her alot, may she rest in peace.
Love you Cruella

I have been where you are, and I still can't seem to accept their death's without heartbreak. Sorry you lost Cruella.

sorry for your loss. Did she maybe not die of eggbinding? maybe she did not lay 1 or 2 eggs from the last clutch she laid?

I am so sorry to hear for your loss. <Hugz>

It is funny how these little cold blooded creatures become some ingrained in our hearts.

Sorry for your loss.

Did you quarantine the WC male that you found?
Could she have gotten something from him?

Thanks guys! This is my first cham that I am loosing, but I think that she was old when I got her because I got them as a trio I had no choice in only takng the two younger ones.
I performed an autopsy on her after the dead and she had a bunch of eggs in her not yet fully developed, but her bowls were full of air. Looks like she had a blockage of poop and her bowls were full of poop.
I suppose this is how you learn. I though she was getting ready to lay as she spent alot of time at the bottom of the cage so I put her in the laying bin which is where she died.

So very sad. I am sorry for your loss. These little animals are so very special and have a way of getting right into our hearts.

Sorry to hear you lost your dear friend. :( Well, atleast you know why she passed away and now you don't have to wonder. Like others said, it is amazing how attached we become.

Yes it is amazing how quickly you become attached. I only got them in June this year and even though she was a bitch and always wanted to bite (hence the name Cruella) she was still special to me and she is going to be missed.
