cup feeding

first some back round:

hi my name is matt...recently bought a BB Red Body Ambilobe Male from Kaleidoscope Chams...roughly 5 months old...he is housed in a 24x24x48 enclosure...i know might be a little big...but i honestly didnt want to have to buy a new cage later unless it was for a whole new Cham like a future mate...this was the first cham i ever bought and i have no regrets...i have owned him for almost 2 weeks now...he has adjusted well..first day or 2 was typical in how he loved to cling to the ceiling...but he did eat a bunch of 1/2 in crickets and i did see him drink...

point of my post:

i want to get him to eat other foods every once in awhile like as a desert...i bought a lot of super worms and am in the process of isolating some of them for breeding purposes

i have held a few out in my hand..and he basically runs away..i figure bc he hasnt gained my full trust...i personally dont want to start handling him at all until i own him for a full month so he is full acclimated..

i am trying to get my cham to cup feed for super worms...so i put in an small butter container that is in perfect site from a vine he climbs on...he has yet to take one..and i have only put in like 2 in there...today i figured i would try something a little different...i did put 2 worms in there..but i also put like 3-4 crickets in there as well..maybe this would this would induce him to come n feed from it..idk

i am not worried at all bc he finds the free roaming crickets with ease...i just want him to have a secondary food source to eat from ever once in awhile...and i dont want super worms free ranging bc if any would find the plant i have in there..i dont want them to burrow in n turn into beetles even though i would assume he would eat them...

any help would b great...if you have questions for me i can do my best to answer them...

Sounds like youre on the right path to me.
The only suggestion i have is make sure the worms are small enough. He might just not be used to them. Also, My guy likes a dark coloured feeding cup, and hates to eat out of shiny or white stuff.

I've had a smallish super in a cup with crickets before. The crickets were tugging on the worm from both ends. Anybody ever gut load their crickets with superworms before?

My panther wouldnt eat supers for the longest time. He yawns when he sees me sometimes, so I waited for a yawn, and at the right moment I stuck a crushed super in his mouth and he's loved them ever since.

in response to the color of the container... i might wrap it with duct tape so it has no shine to it.. sounds like a good plan...

i am not real worried... it will just be a patient process... once he eats his first one he will be addicted to them most likely...
