first some back round:
hi my name is matt...recently bought a BB Red Body Ambilobe Male from Kaleidoscope Chams...roughly 5 months old...he is housed in a 24x24x48 enclosure...i know might be a little big...but i honestly didnt want to have to buy a new cage later unless it was for a whole new Cham like a future mate...this was the first cham i ever bought and i have no regrets...i have owned him for almost 2 weeks now...he has adjusted well..first day or 2 was typical in how he loved to cling to the ceiling...but he did eat a bunch of 1/2 in crickets and i did see him drink...
point of my post:
i want to get him to eat other foods every once in awhile like as a desert...i bought a lot of super worms and am in the process of isolating some of them for breeding purposes
i have held a few out in my hand..and he basically runs away..i figure bc he hasnt gained my full trust...i personally dont want to start handling him at all until i own him for a full month so he is full acclimated..
i am trying to get my cham to cup feed for super worms...so i put in an small butter container that is in perfect site from a vine he climbs on...he has yet to take one..and i have only put in like 2 in there...today i figured i would try something a little different...i did put 2 worms in there..but i also put like 3-4 crickets in there as well..maybe this would this would induce him to come n feed from it..idk
i am not worried at all bc he finds the free roaming crickets with ease...i just want him to have a secondary food source to eat from ever once in awhile...and i dont want super worms free ranging bc if any would find the plant i have in there..i dont want them to burrow in n turn into beetles even though i would assume he would eat them...
any help would b great...if you have questions for me i can do my best to answer them...
