I did the same thing took a China cabinet and blew it up , added 9 inches to the back 5 inches to the bottom ..

Nice setup my inside dimensions 67 high and 47in wide and splitting it in half so you think deeper would be better

Do you think 18in deep will be enough it also tappers out to 20 in the bottom middle or should I add the 6in to make it 24in deep

Since your working with 67 inches high I would not be as concerned about the depth as long as you can divide it to get a 2 foot width for each side. I would not have anything with less than 18 inches in depth though.

IMHO bigger is always better .. my most recent habitat Will be 32 deep . I found The height is relative to the actual height of the habitat . It’s not necessarily the 67 but the height off the floor . I use a 48 but the entire Height is 90 inches off the floor .(hope that makes sense)

The entire enclosure is 6ft tall plus adding 2 tier wire shelve for another 27n
The bottom 1ft is for soil to make bioactive

I paid someone to make me 2 3x3x6 screen cages but he had a family emergency and sent money back
I think bigger is better too

Sounds like you've got a lot of work ahead of you. I love custom enclosures made out of furniture but I'm not the most DIY-guy lol, looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

I would of went with screen vents to keep bugs in and kept them all lower for a chimney effect

I love custom builds! Looking at the bottom vents where is the bioactive substrate going to go? Or is this now a non bioactive build?

I’m putting some 24x20X12 plastic tubs on each side and the vents have screens so no bugs get out

I’m putting this on wire rack and thinking about putting in a drain in the tub and bottom of the enclosure
Probably going to use pvc for the drain

3 in 1 pvc glue should work. So only need drill and pvc pipe for drains. That how I do my cages now

If haven't found tubs yet at lowes where concrete is they 4 sizes of tubs 2x2. 2x3 1.5x2 don't remember other size all 8 inches high
