Cut on foot treatment?

I will send a pic. when I get home but my Ambilobe Panther has a cut/sore on his foot. It doesn't look infected but he is not grasping much with that foot. Can I treat this with neosporin on bacitracin? I beleive he got the cut from grasping fishing line I use to support branches. Otherwise it's from left over shed.
