Cut on lip?

Mathesar usually shows me his "good" side. I literally have hundreds of pics of him always sitting in the same spot with one side to me... so no wonder I never really noticed this happening.

I saw this little spot on the outside of his lip when we got him as a baby Sept 2012... Sometimes it was dark, other times light. I thought it was skin stuck on him from a shed (it was a little wrinkly looking). I didnt notice it getting any worse or anything but sometimes its a different color and is noticable (today it looks more white).

Here is a pic of when he was gaping under his basking light (which I have raised up a bit to stop the gaping). I have looked IN his mouth= no brown spots or dots... nothing stuck there. his lip looks to have a cut on it and is split but healed... and his upper lip has an indent where this extra skin touches if that makes sense. If anything- it looks like scar tissue or something like that. Its not fresh. I never saw any bleeding or swelling.

I want to know what this is and what I need to do because its been on him since he was a little baby and now I can see it a little better since he is more friendly to me and not hiding as much.

Oops. here is the other pic. See the indent where his upper gumline is? it looks to be from the skin on his bottom lip because it sticks up a little.

Hi, its hard to say what caused this. Guessing it could have been a injury from a feeder, birth defect or maybe he chewed on a branch and cut it. It sounds like there is nothing to worry about now.
