I don't use spirulina...only greens and veggies for my crickets and superworms, etc. I don't use anything else that would have it in either for other insects...but I have no control over what the insects are raised on before I get them. (I don't breed my own for the chameleons.)
While I do raise many bugs,
I buy crickets (well, except pin-head to one week olds), butterworms, and hornworms. So it is quite possible whatever the suppliers feed these would include vitamin A. But then wouldnt that be so for most people who but them?
I dont use a lot of silkworms, but I raise them partially on store bought chow, especially in winter. The chow powder may contain some added preformed A? I cant verify cuz the supplier doesnt know or wont say.
