Damaranum update

Here is an update of my damaranum family.
The first is my pride and joy Miss Basil. She has either retained sperm and is pregnant or is getting fat on wild insects.

The next 3 are of Rex who is one of the 2 babies I kept from her last clutch. You may recall a similar pic I posted a few months back, the main difference being his greys are slowly being replaced by green. Only 6months old! Hes going to an absolute stunner once hes fully matured! :D

The last is Rose (aka. Friendly) who is the friendliest chameleon I have ever had the fortune of keeping. He/she (we are still not sure) will climb on to anyone who gets close enough to her tree.

A point of interest is I have almost completely stopped using supplements. I do a multivitamin dust about once a month but that's it. Everything else is in the gut load, wild insects and most importantly their all day access to direct sunlight.

They're beautiful! We are just now planning on housing our B. transvaalense outside to see if they do any better. They really don't seem to like the indoors. :-/

Great photos. This is at the top of the list of species I'd like to work with someday.

Luis, if you can find a way of keeping them outdoors (may be too hot in Fl), I'd definitely do it. My transvaalense really seem to respond well to being outdoors, more so than many other species I've had.

I try to keep them outside as much as possible and even leave them in the rain occasionally if it is light and the temps mild. They are very temperature tolerant especially if you can introduce them to highs and lows early on. I do live right on the beach which does usually stop the mercury hitting the extremes but Basil and Rose have both endured a few nights below freezing as well as 35dgrees centigrade + days during summer.
