dark chameleon

i got a 5 and half month old veiled and recently hes always being dark for some reason.....i did not change any lighting or heating... hes always dark and sitting under the heater.... im assuming its time he needs more heat because he gotten bigger??? that might be the explanation to him sitting under the heater all day....

sounds logical to increase the temp as he grows. what is his temperatures at now?

mid to low 80's.... and its pretty much the closest i can get the heater to the cage...any closer it could be dangerous cus the cage will heat up and might burn the little guy... i got a ceramic bulb....so i got another one and im gonna get the light fixture for it as well so then i would have to ceramic bulbs beside each other....i think that would be enough....

i have noticed with my chameleon that she gets dark when it is not humid... whenever the humidity goes up she turns bright and gets very active

ok.... thats a different idea...which is very useful... but the humidity levels sky rocketed the past week here in canada so im not sure if that applies to my guy....
