Dark colors normal?

Hi everyone! I was just wondering, when my chams are in they're cage under the basking light they are really dark colors/patterns. As soon as I take them out they lighten up, is this normal behavior? The basking spot is almost 80 degrees so I know it's not that they're cold, What else could it be?

This is very normal. Chameleons tend to have darker colors when basking because they're soaking up all the heat they can get. Nothing to worry about.
