You should remove the dead ones because they cause a stink.

Ive also heard the dead crickets give off a toxic odor to live crickets that will eventually kill them. Not sure if it's true or not, but I have noticed crickets die a lot faster if you do not remove the dead ones.

crickets do give off a toxic odor that kills more crickets. remove them immedietly.

Yes, the toxic odor thing is true. You should probaby clean out the cricket cage more than once a week too, if you don't want bad die off. That is unless you're only keeping small numbers.
