I have had multiple saltwater tanks and through the years you learn ways around buying products specifically for a particular pet and getting better deals.. IE: Lighting fixtures for plant growing are the same fixture as an aquarium fixture as a reptile fixture you just pick what bulbs suit your need and if you need built in timers etc..OR I use to pay like 8$ for a few pieces of dried seaweed for my saltwater fish to find I can buy a huge pack of the same stuff in the super market for wayyy cheaper. Also same with water additives.. most pool chemicals are the same as aquarium additives.. (just make sure you know what your doing obviously!) Anyways I found a decent priced light fixture T5HO on ebay. Comes with 2 grow bulbs, I got the 4' long because i am putting above 2 2'x2'x4" screen enclosures. Fixture and 2 bulbs for $50 shipped. great quality too (I have it) and it has an extra outlet off the side.

I plan on using 1 grow bulb for extra lighting and the live plants.. and then Petco.com has their 4' UVB 10.0 bulbs on sale for 20$ each, free shipping at times if you spend over 50$. So I bought 2 and have a light and 2 sets of bulbs for $90.

Just passing on some deals :)

They come with 2 6500k bulbs. You still need to by 1 UV bulb. On the bright side (pun) the UV light will match the same color as the 6500k.

yeah, The fixture comes with 2 6500k T5HO bulbs.. so i bought 2 uvb 10.0 bulbs on petco.com .. they were on sale for 20$ each.. so i will have 1-6500k bulb and 1 uvb 10.0 bulb and a spare set when they need replacing.

Here are the pics. I used one of the two 6500k bulbs it came with and one of the two reptisun 10.0uvb bulbs in i got from petco. Really nice light for 50$.

Not the "machined" super high quality lights many claim are the best, but I like it! (y) The reflector design is also different than I thought. I don't think I have ever seen a reflector that wasn't smooth. Let us know how they work out. If it's not too much trouble after you finish the enclosure set up, can you post a picture to show how the light transmission is with a enclosures fully made up?
