I believe my jackson is dehydrated so I'm going to put him in the shower. This is something I've never done, so I just want to make sure I do this right. So this is what I plan on doing, tell me if something is wrong....
Put him & the plant in.
Point the shower toward the wall, not directly at him.
Have the water temp just warm enough to make steam.
Shower him for about 15 minutes.

How often should I do this?

i never done this before but some people put them in the shower a couple of times a week or a couple of times a day, depending on the chameleon's dehydration

Hey Little Village,

What happened to make him get dehydrated? How long has he been this way? What makes you think he is? That is what is going to determine how long and how often to do it. If he is only slightly dehydrated than 1x day for 30 minutes minimum should do. Do it everyday for 3-4 days. If you think it is much worse, then you need to increase it depending on his condition. If he is really dehydrated with sunken eyes then 2-3 x day for 45-60 min each time. Can you show a pic of him? Remember he might be in there for 10-15 min before he even starts drinking. Also, DON'T leave him alone just in case. I usually bring a stool and just sit by the tub supervising. Sometimes they go really really really crazy and will try to jump to get out and everything. This IS perfectly normal and he does it just to scare the crap out of you.lol. Give him time, they usually LEARN to really enjoy the shower. Check the water often and good luck.

Thanks for the advice but I've already posted all the info on another thread because he wasn't eating and nobody could find anything wrong w/ the husbandry. I thought I finally got him eating, but now he's not eating or drinking. He just sits in the same spot all day, sleeping. He might peek at me (if I'm lucky) when I touch him. He doesn't try to hide or nothing. Even when I reach in & touch him, he barely moves.
