Dehydration?

I haven't been seeing my chameleon drink so I was just looking to see if she looks OK I'm thinking she just doesn't want to it with me watching she hasn't wanted to eat today but it is only 9:30am here the base of her tail was pail and I didn't know if that was normal or a sign if dehydration but it ended up going away...or maybe she's just getting ready for a shed and lost appetite she hasn't had one with me I've only had her a couple days

Welcome to the forums. Congrats on that little cutie! Have you seen any poop? If so what did it look like? If they are pooping them they are eating. Sometime they sneak and eat when you aren't looking. If the light colored end of the poop is white then that means they are drinking. If it's yellow or orange then they can be dehydrated. Here's my blog for new keepers for how I recommend keeping young panthers and veileds. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blo...-with-young-veiled-or-panther-chameleons.325/

I just found this on a left its the first I've seen and she ate a decent sized cricket a few min ago it has red on the end...

How are you misting and dripping? I'd say she needs more water. Sometimes you have to mist for a long time to get them to drink.

I have been misting about every 30 min with luke warm water. My humidifier drips condensation off the top of the cage every few min. The leafs underneath that stay wet. That poop wasn't there earlier and after she ate I found it. Maybe dehydration led to constipation and the she didn't want to eat? I've tried to continuously spray for a while but she hates it and climbs to the top of the cage whenever I do it

My little guy dose the same thing he runs and hides when I start Misting him so I'm never sure if he is drinking any water are not I mist for about 3 min each time 3 times a day but each time he runs up under a plant leaf and hides a have Misted for a long a 8 min and never seen him drink 1 time. He has a Chameleon canteena but I have never seen him drink from it.

Be careful with the cantina. I had one but I took it out because even cleaning it out a few times a week it got slimy. It's a great concept but....

I have been keeping a very close eye on it the water have been using has helped a lot with it not getting slimy with cleaning ever couple days.

Cool, just watch it close. Like I said, I had one. I used RO water even. It ended up getting slimy faster and faster and then I noticed black inside the tubing and thats when I took it out. Just giving you a little glimpse of my experience. If you are able to keep it from getting slimy then more power to ya. I love the concept of it and really wish it had worked better for me.

I don't have a cantina I just made dripper so I can get a little more water flow and have been misting but I still haven't seen her drink but she ate a little more so hopefully she's drinking in secret
