im not sure that my guy is showing signs of dehydration or not but its starting to worry me. i see him drink from the leaves once in a while but i just dont think he is getting enough water. How do i get him to drink?

Mist with very warm water for a long time. Use a drip cup over a vine hanging down in the cage....not a silk vine, either real or plastic. Give a warm shower.

Is th poop white and brown?

If there is white, hydration is fine. you only need to worry about orange urate.

Also if you post a picture everyone can take a look. Show the eyes if you can.

If you see him drinking chances are he gets enough

All the above are great ideas. I would not use the shower unless hydration is a confirmed problem. Showers can be stressful

i usually mist his cage at least twice a day for maybe 30 seconds each time, that is probably where i could improve. ill start misting for longer periods of time with warm water. any ideas on how to get the water warm? i would say microwave but that doesnt sound right.

i also have a dripper thats just a styrofoam cup with a tiny hole punched in it that i fill up once a day but it seems like he cant grasp the concept of drinking from it. he just sits there and watches it and kind of seems afraid of it and by the time he gets close enough the dripper is out of water. i also used to set the dripper over a dragon plant ive got in his cage and would put a plastic container under the pot to catch the water, one day i actually caught him shooting his tounge into the water and drinking from it. i have taken this out because i just dont like the idea of him drinking from standing water.

now on to his poop, i havent really gotten a chance to catch him in the act but from the ones ive seen the white part seems to have a little bit of a yellowish tint sometimes.

-ill work on a picture soon

Sounds like you are on the right track. When I mist by hand I mist about 2-3 min at a time 2-3 times a day.

My Herpmist Schedule for my panthers and veiled is 4min , 2 min , 2 min, 4 min. Throughout the day.

I boil the water and mix a little cool with the hot water. The microwave is a good source. Don't put the mister bottle in the microwave, use another bottle.

The yellow tint is fine if it only a little. I think if there is a little dehydration you will correct it with longer mistings.

Run your tap! I always make sure that I can run the water on my hand. If I have to pull away then it is too hot.

i like to use the water that comes from my fridge because its hooked up to a filter for us to drink. the problem with this is the water is always really cold when it comes out so i either have to wait for it to get room temp or i pop it in the microwave

Room temp is not hot enough. you can tell by filling the bottle and spraying your hand. The mist should be warm. It takes really hot water to achieve it.

Some taps can get hot enough but at my house its not enough.

Does the misting water have to be warm if your in a warm climate? Isnt room temp ok in summer. Also how do you know the humidity ratio for winter temperatures?
shouldnt humidity be a bit lower in cooler temps?

it's good to have a digital thermometer with hygrometer built in.
