Delko, a Furcifer Pardalis Sambava

He looks good! The reds will start coming in in the next few months.

I didn't think Hyperion even had red until I found out he hated my guinea pigs... You just have to find the right thing to make him mad. :) Pan hated my phone for a while, and he still hates my camera. Hyperion doesn't like anything furry.

I am indeed looking for him to get his orange/red more visible, but i know it can take up to 2 years! I just find it special that he actually looks more like a blue-barred ambilobe than a sambava (except the U and not the Y on his chest)!

Haha you scared your chameleon with a guinea pig! What a funny idea! :D

It was his own fault! He climbed up the side of their cage while he was exploring one day.

Hyperion looks like an ambilobe when he is resting. His bars are usually purple-blue-grey or grey-red. It's a very unattractive color! :). He used to be a lot more blue (like your guy!)

Woah this is totally not like Delko when he sleeps! He's almost all yellow with orange bars, and sometimes he has some green, but no grey at all!!

Where am I?? :D

If it weren't for his eye I never would have found him. He is sure a beauty. But he never gets any attention.:D:D

I found him!

Yeah, Hyperion is a wierdo. When he sleeps he just turn bright green with blue or maroon bars even though he fires up orange and red. I love my little odd ball though :D

Haha yes Laurie, his eyes are the best way to find him! And do you think i am neglecting my chameleons Laurie?? :p :p

Pssh: Hyperion is definately a weirdo! And i'm sure you still like him! ;)

Today i took a few new pictures of Mr. Delko. The shooting session wasn't planned, and was rushed as he wore for the first time a yellow and orange dress! After a year and seven months, it was about time! :)

I also took the opportunity to try to take my first "macro pictures". However, the conditions weren't very good since i had to be standing on a little chair to take the picture! I also had to do the focus manually with my digital camera screen, since i couldn't check by the camera's eye! So if you add these conditions to the fact that Delko was not cooperating and constantly moving, i guess the results aren't bad for a first try!

I hope you'll like the pictures!

The giftwrap would make a great background for a planned photo shoot in the future! :D

Nice morpheon. I am a Sambava guy and your boy is going to be one insanely colored adult. He has already made color changes since your first post to this thread. My 7 yr old male sambava is about to kick the can. and my 3 yr old female is about to do the same. It is so sad!!!:( At least I have 2 sambava clutches incubating and I am on the hunt for more unique Sambava bloodlines that are unrelated to any I have and no one seems have what I am looking for. Keep up the good work my friend.

Thank you for the kind words you two! It is really appreciated, especially since you two are great pardalis breeders! :)

And Tkilgour, i am really sorry to hear about your two chameleons! :( I hope they won't suffer much, and that your two clutch will be great! :S

I was just curious what the little green worm he was eating is?
And he is a beautiful guy and such an amazing setup!

Farrah, the green worm is a hornworm, probably the best worms around for chameleons! Sadly they are very expensive! :( And thank you for the nice words! :)

They are beautiful! Is there a certain age the cham must be before he/she can eat them?
