Deremensis eggs any day now.

For 2013 3000 melleri and 500 deremensis were allowed for legal export from Tanzania. Malawi and Mozambique which also have populations of melleri do not list this species for export. That doesn't mean they aren't shipped out of Tanzania but Tanzania has a pretty good control on their exports for the most part.

For 2014 allowable WC exports remain at the same levels from Tanzania. Farm raised exports are now called F1's. Allowable exports for F1's have dropped by around half for both species.

Ok. She finally laid her eggs. Almost 20 weeks after the last time she mated. I was getting a bit worried. She is still burying them. I will post how many, and how they look, as soon as she is done.

Holy cow! She laid 37, large, nice looking eggs.

That is excellent news! I was actually just responding to your message. I've been absolutely slammed at work the last few days but it's a good thing I was delayed a little since she didn't appear to need intervention after all! In my experience it's right when you give up on them and consider intervention that they do what they need to. ;) Glad she's doing so well and that's a big clutch!

Yep. I try to be patient, but she had me a bit worried. I'm not really used to chameleons with such a long gestation. My second female is full of eggs now. It will be interesting to see how long she takes.

Glad you saw this post. I was about to email you and let you know.

My second female is laying right now! She is not near as big as my other female. I'll post how many when she is done.

Just dug up the eggs. She laid 14 huge eggs, almost twice the size of my other female's eggs.

Her gestation was just around 4 months from her first mating. However, she mated several times after that, over the next 5 weeks. Both females dug very shallow holes, just around 3" from the surface. Interesting to see how long the eggs take.
