Dexter is growing!

My man Dexter is growing so much. He will be 5 months on the 16
He has grown a lot and developed quite the colors.
The little guy had a little fall yesterday in his cage and dent his casque a wee bit but i sure hope it will get better as he grows and so does his casque. Other then that he is the sweetest little thing and doesn't mind his casque at all.
He will for sure be a free ranger in about 4 more months as he doesn't like staying in a cage lol

Did he actually dent his casque? If it actually dented I would be worried about bone/calcium problems. If it's just a bruise then I'm sure he's fine. you try to get him to bite you to see how his jaw bones are. It's a good way to make sure they are getting enough calcium.

He has some nice blues coming in!

It doesn't hurt when small chameleons bite your arm/hand. It definitely won't hurt if there is a calcium problem. I wouldn't let my adult male veiled bite me, but I would/do let my others and friend's animals bite me. It also works to see how flexible the casque is. It should be pretty stiff, if it's not then there's a problem.


It's easier than just guessing, and it makes me feel better about it.

He got to free range on this huge plant we have in the house and i put him on it while i was making a sandwich and then of course i forgot about him. Then 3 hours later my mom sees him and starts yelling because he climbed on the top so much it bent the plant and now it looks like nothing lol. PLUS he ate the top of her plant. Silly and happy chameleon !
