differnt looking crickets?

When to a different pet store today and i baught 12 doz crickets and they were different ....there more of a black color ...has anybody used these and i havent heard any cherping

Where did u get them, and they look fine. It is normal 4 pet-shop crickets not 2 chirp.

The black crickets are more aggressive and will bite. I would only feed a few at a time and don't leave any uneaten ones in the cage.

Ok ...I will take them out....all the crickets I bought cherp....not these guys and some are huge!

I like it when my local pet shop carries those ones, if they're the Jamaican field cricket, Gryllus assimilis. They breed faster, grow bigger, eat more (gutload better). Can bite, but not a big deal. Doesnt hurt me, and certain doesnt hurt chameleons who know to crunch their food. Noisier though

I like those crickets too. . I dont know the name but I bet sandra is correct. They definalty are better than the black death crickets. IMO

I just received 1000 of these last week, They eat the hell outta cricket crack, and I have had to make fresh wet gutload daily instead of every 2-3 days. They Hollow out a large orange in a few days too!
