digital temp reads 40f

when i got home today i checked my cham room digital temp gauge and it had locked in a 77.6 high and 40.3f for a low. i reset this gauge every 24hrs.
does anyone have any ideas why my temp sensor would register a 40.3f reading? besides the temp actually dropping to 40.3. its not cold enough here now to be 40.3f in the house.

i reset it and now its working.maybe its failing.

Probably you should change the batteries....or get a new one?

I've seen them act really funky when I mist the cage. I try not to get it wet, but depending on the temp of the water you are misting with, it can cool off a lot when it gets in the air and may trigger a really low reading around your gauge... What kind are you therm are you using?

Are you using the Fluker's Thrermometer/Hygrometer combo? I have a couple that Im using that have done the same thing, pretty much right outta the box with fresh batteries.
