Distilled Water

Is it okay If my chameleon only drinks distilled water. Since it's so hypertonic wouldn't it be unhealthy? Unless their used to having very pure water.

As long as you are providing the proper mineral dust supplementation and gotloading your insects it should be OK. RO water is fine too. They don't soak in the water and don't have very permeable skins, so its less of a problem than it is for fish or amphibians.

I've been using distilled water for misting (mistking) for 15 months and have not had any mineral buildup in my nozzles. I feel it's safe as rain.

Deff wanna be using distilled water if you have a misting system so that your nozzles don't clog up. It will prevent white dust buildup better on the inside of your cage as well because there are no minerals in the distilled to get on your enclosure

I use a couple of gallons of distilled waters in my misting system when the nozzles start getting clogged. The rest of the time, I use RO filtered bottled water.
