Im a little worried i may have scratched the inside of her mouth. The only thing is i cnt see inside to check Can anyone help? Any sugestions on how to check her mouth? Do they have teeth??!

They do have teeth! Sharp little ones.

Monitor her for the next few days, if you can tell her mouth is irritated and she's acting strange, you'll want to consult your vet.

This might sound like a studpid question buuut How can u tell if their mouth is irritated?!!

No such thing as a stupid question here, please make sure you ask everything and anything you want to know!

First and foremost, make sure you aren't stressing your cham out. Make sure you are giving them space and not staring at them all day with frequent check ups. If your chameleon is not eating for a few days, then they may have a mouth irritation. Most like your cham is fine, as they eat insects all the time that can do more damage than a fingernail, but again, it is always good to be cautious.

if your cham is exhibiting strange signs, not eating after several days, etc. than a trip to the vet might be a good thing to look into.

Right now, I'd give your cham some space, find a good vet in your area who specializes in reptiles (preferably has experience with chameleons) and go from there.

My Panther chameleon bit me once.

ONCE. I still haven't forgotten. He drew blood INSTANTLY with such little effort, it was chilling. I don't bleed easily. He left me with a piece of my finger missing.

Yep, they have teeth. They're sharp. As hell.

It's funny that Disney and the general population sees chameleons as these cute little things, when they can actually be a bit on the vicious side. The people that named "Panther chameleons" did so for a specific reason. They were impressively violent for their size.

Yet another reason (among MANY) why you should always respect your chameleon. They do have teeth and know how to use them.

Pay attention to the signals your Cham will send you. Once you understand them, you can communicate and stay in the safe zone.

I ignored the signals here. That was my mistake, and not my animal's fault. I cannot blame him for chomping my ass.

We are still buddies, but I sure do listen to him more now. That's for SURE.

Chams sure do have teeth. I have been bitten several times, over the years. If you get bitten, you are told to not react and jerk your hand away. I am a failure! I react and snatch my hand away. This can cause your cham harm, so hopefully you can do better than I do.

That said, most bites are not harmful, just more of a surprise. Like with any animal, chams will tell you if they do not want bothered. You can see if a Cham is trying to get away to hide, when you see or hear the threaten you, mouth open, cham swaying, they are telling you to leave them alone. With time and knowing your cham, you will learn what they are trying to communicate to you.

My cham got me by accident, once! I was hand feeding these little tiny green veggie ball things (could have passed them off for soggy peas!) and he missed and comped on my finger! He wasn't even being aggressive and took a dent out of my nail, and drew blood on the other side! I really don't want to piss him off and find out what an "angry bite" feels like!
