im new to the cham world and ive been seeing people talk about vitamens/supplements if so wut part do they plain in my chams life ?

The supplements help reduce MBD. You should be dusting your crickets or worms with calcium everyday. Dust with calcium with d3 twice a month and vitamins and minerals twice a month aswell

MBD is Metabolic Bone Disease which is caused my a lack of calcium. I am not positive what D3 is so i'll wait for another forum member to chime in on this. Dusting is how you put your supplements on your feeders. Ex. Putting crickets in a bag with calcium and shaking the bag so the feeders get fully covered with calcium.

D3 allows the cham to actually absorb the calcium, but they also make a lot of that on their own if they have proper UVB lighting as well as occasional exposure to REAL sunlight (this mean taking them outside - glass windows prevent UVB penetration).

well right now my cham is a sub-adult and we hand feed him/her still not sure gunna check for tarsal spurs but we hand feed my cham so how would i dust the worms with calcium

Since they make a lot of D3 on their own that is why they only need that about twice a month. But they need calcium without D3 EVERY DAY. This is very important for chams.

no it is not the one in my avatar and we hand feed my cham because the worms will bury themselves in the soil at the bottom of the tank and hinoco1225 how do u actually give the cham calcium

ok i have a veiledi wanna say female still not 100% sure cuase i only see it on the weekends its at my dads house we dont handle it tht much we feed it mealworms usally 5+ evry other day we mist my cham quite often i have not seen my cham poop yet we keep it in a class 10 gallon tanbk with a screen top we leav my cham in a basking light i belive till night time then stick it under a night light sortta bulb not sure aBout temp but somewhere from 75 to 90 in day timme and 65 to 75 in night time the tank is located in a corner of my house by a big window with daylight shininng with live plants surrounding the tank and fake plants inside the tank forgive ans spelling errors thts prty much all i can fill out sry also like i said before theirs soil at the bottom of the tank

Ok, so your chameleon is housed in 10 gallon tank? Like a fish tank? Please elaborate on your set-up and post pics. And you absolutly need a UVB light. That is vital to the chameleon. 90 degrees is way to hot for a veiled especially if it's in a glass enclosure. Take out the soil, you do not need anything at the bottom of the tank. You should be feeding it more than just mealworms. Mealworms are high in chitin (hard body shell) and can be rough for you cham to digest.

You need to get a different cage. Preferably screen and one that is VERTICAL! Chams are aboreal and like to climb! UVB acts like the sun, but is artificial. They need UVB to prevent MBD.

Please post pictures so we can help some more. It definitly sounds like you will need to make some BIG changes in order for your cham to live a happy healthy life.
