Do most Panthers enjoy misting?

My chameleon hates it! He takes off everytime the mistking comes on. Now I'm not worried at all about hydration because his viv gets soaked and urine is fine but the reason I ask is I see pictures and videos of chams just loving it. Do most panthers like or dislike it?

How long have you had him with that system? If you haven't had it long maybe he is not used to it and it surprises him.

He's about 6 months. He is going in his adult viv soon and as soon as that happens I'm going to go duel nozzle and increase the water too. He doesn't freak out but he mosies away rather quickly!

I hand mist and my little guy usually avoids it as well. Only once or twice have I seen him sit there and tolerate it .

This is only my theory and it involves a lot of anthropomorphizing so take with a grain of salt. Do you like the first second you jump into the pool? No? it's cold and a bit shocking at first but once your all wet and into it you get used to it. I think this is why longer mistings are better tolerated over more frequent ones. My horse hates it when I first spray him with water but by the time I go back to rinse he could care less. I'm guessing this is the case with chams as well.

What Jacksjill says fits with what I see. At first he splits, then he comes and just hangs around in the mist, and eventually cruises off. It took him a while to get used to the mister too.

If mine are at all dehydrated or they need to clean their eyes, they will sit under the misters. Otherwise, they tend to avoid them. They still breath in the foggy misty air.

This is the same with my veiled, I usually spray away from him. And if I don't see him and accidentally spray him he gets really mad and runs to somewhere dry. Try not to spray him. It's all on the chameleon

Some chams will sit there n let u spray, but some won't,for the chams dont like to be directly mist on their body,u can try mist around them with the hand misting ....until they get the drill they will either get use to it or avoid it at all cost.
