Do they recognize us?

Once our chams start to do the whole hand feeding, and possibly even coming out of their cage do they recognize us? I mean i grew my beard out and it seems as if she has never seen me before angry and stressed, and she got use to me again. I then had to shave my face and it seems like its the beginning again. What you guys think or has this happen to anyone else

They certainly recognize you, and just like a kiddo, if you shave your beard or all of a sudden grow your beard out your appearance changes and likewise it makes them unsure of who they are looking at. My daughter always double takes me when i shave my beard off, but of course, my daughter doesn't look at me like a likely predator that will eat her. Chams cant hear, so they cant really learn your voice, thats why appearance and movement goes a long way with them. I have heard of chams who hate when there owners wear certain colors. Regardless, you should have no problem warming your cham up to you again, chams tend to love the hand that feeds

Im sure they do recognize us...
Dante likes me, but he is in love with my mother. As soon as she gets near the cage he comes up to the front and raises his hands waiting for her to pick him up. Its sooo funny!
Dante is also affraid of my brother, he doesnt likes him much...
And I believe the colors of your clothes also affects...
Ive seen that dante is more friendly with me when Im wearing green - blue and light colors.
And he seems more alert when Im wearing reds - organges and brighty colors.
I dont know if this is true... This is what Ive experienced x)

they totally do! my meller and me have a strong connection and she loves me more then anyone else, i dyed my hair black yesterday from red and she was flapping her flaps at me and hissing at me like shes never seen me before, once i talked to her she calmed down and realized it was me. its really funny. when i wear pink she does the same thing because i rarley wear pink

They definitely recognize us. Kuzco will high tail it to the door when I walk in, but if its anyone else he high tails it to the top of the cage. They really are like children. Very grumpy children lol!

Its funny cause she just looks at me and kinda tilts her head like a dog, and wonders hmmmm who is this. Then bam she finally realizes it and is fine. Its crazy

Yup I agree, they recognize us. When I walk into the room my Senegal immediately rushes to the door of his Viv & gives me that "puppy in the window" look until I get him out. He doesn't do that for anyone else. He puffs at my bfs hand but never puffs at me. Once he's out of his Viv he will go to my bf but won't go to anyone he doesn't recognize
