Do you use natural sticks??

I am going to be building a new cage once I move into my new place and want to change it up a little. I noticed a lot of people here have sticks or branches in their cage that look like just sticks that were found in the backyard.

If so do you treat them any way?? I was thinking of getting some and just stripping the bark off. Can you tell me what you do?

I give em a real quick wash with washing up liquid. Then a real thorough rinse. Cheap and you can replace them as tiny feet grow :D

Cool sounds good. Thanks I want to get more horizontal pathways going especially since the new cage is going to be a lot bigger. Im moving into my girls place, so I have to make it look good.

Horizontal pathways are the way forward.......for people and for chams....:D

I get mine from the tree in the front yard and check for bug infestation. If they look ok then they are good to go. I do not use any type of spray or pesticides so I do not worry about that. Some people bake them in the oven but I think that is total overkill and is not necessary. JMO

I grab them from the backyard, preheat the oven 500 degrees farenheit and then turn it off, stick the sticks in there, and let them bake the germs out for 15 mins and then take them out.

I guess I went overboard making sure there were no germs, but honestly, unless the wood is infected with terrible diseases, all you really need is a rinse I guess.

HAHAH I guess I was too late on knowing that baking them was overkill :D

Hey Sonny, if I take the piss out of you a little bit would you get offended?
(take the piss is British for mock you :))

I did bake at the beginning but since found it is just as good to clean them really well with soap and hot water, rinse, dry and place them in the enclosure.

I actually meant to write more in the last one ha.I've only used drift wood from the beach.I soaked it overnight in freshwater to get rid of the salt then it got the wash and rinse

Lol, no I never asked before (on the forum at least) but he's 14 and American.....I don't know if he can take a gentle ribbing or if I can unleash the beast and make him laugh. His reply will determine mine......it's called a conversation ;)
