Does anyone know what this is?

My mom bought Izzie crickets tonight from Petsmart because we are running low and getting ready to place an online order--now that the weather has broke from the awful heatwave we have had. We were looking at them..and there is a hitch-hiker in there. Does anyone know what this thing is?

Dermastid beetle larvae. They are used as a clean up crew for the crickets. Totally normal and nothing to worry about.
Thanks!! This is the first one I have had come along with any crickets I have bought. Do I just throw it out? He looks kinda creepy...lol

You can kill him and throw him outo. I personally would throw him in a feeder bin. They are great for clean up and don't harm the living insects. I need to get me some for my dubia

Are dermestid beetles an insect from around her area? It's not good to release unnatural animals into the wild when they don't belong there.
