Done Setting Up My Cage!

So I'm finally done setting up my cage for now. I'm really excited and I'm happy the way it turned out. I have an umbrella plant and a pothos plant in an 18x18x36' cage. I have 5 branches in total in my cage. I know you could only see 3 but I put the other 2 in the middle of the cage just incase my little guy wants to hide. I'm planning on adding just a couple more very soon. I also wrapped the umbrella tree with a vine and the pothos too but just a little. Between tomorrow and Tuesday, I'll be receiving the rest of my things. I'm happy the way it's turning out and I hope my chameleon will like his new home too. What do you guys think? Remember this is my first set up ever haha.

It looks really great Seb! Good work. You're going to have a few scares when you can't find your boy hiding in all that plant coverage ;) But it's good to have lots of cover for them. Help keeps their stress levels down when they feel safe and well hidden.

Wow that's great! I'm glad I decided to go like this then. I want him to feel happy and comfortable in his new home :)

It looks very nice! I still would add some vines and branches for walkways. Is that your basking light to the left?

Agree with all the lovely people on here so far :D Your first set up? how old are you? and how old will your cham be? I guess panther or veiled?

Your cage does look great! If I was to suggest anything it would be to have a couple more gradients in and around your basking spot so your guy can thermoregulate as needed. As it looks now he's only gonna have 'basking' and non-basking! Otherwise, very good setup for your first time!

Looking good

Its looking pretty good my friend ! Although I would trim the plants a little " I would at least " I like to see my chameleon and not a cage of leaves haha. How did you hook up the dripper I cant see it hanging from anywhere? Also if I can make one suggestion, itll help you out in the long run with cleaning and smells........

Yeah don't worry, this is what I have for now. Yes my basking light is on the left and my 5.0 UVB bulb gets in tomorrow so I'll add it right after. I have an extra vine thing.. it's pretty long but i don't know if I should add it or not.

Thank you thank you! Yes this is my first set up. It took me about an hour and a half though even though it looks simple. I just didn't know what I wanted to do with it so, I just messed around with the plants. I am turning 19 next month. My first chameleon is a male veiled about 3-4 months old. I'm so excited :)

If I may ask, what do you mean by more gradients? Sorry for the stupid question.. Tomorrow I will install my thermometer/hygrometer. Thank you thank you I appreciate it!

Thank you! I appreciate it! Actually I was thinking about doing that because it does look way too bushy and crowded. Like I want to give him his little area where he could hide but I do want to see the cage too. I get what you mean. Thanks for the link I will definitely check it out! I haven't set up his dripper yet. I have it here but I will do it tomorrow. I'm thinking about putting the tube right where that big branch is at under the basking spot. Is that a good idea?

When ChamMom says gradients she is referring to "temperature gradient". This is best achieved by placing horizontal "walkways" underneath the basking spot at different heights. This gives your chameleon a choice of temperature, thus, a temperature gradient.
