Dont give up on your eggs yet!

Hello and good morning to some,
I had a pygmy egg that want looking so good out of 4 of the eggs. This egg was like sinking in and all but was to getting moldy. SO i put it in a little deli cup of its own yesterday. Today i went to check on it...and no longer looked like it was collapsing. It looked like a perfectly new egg. Wish me luck with this guy and all my other eggs.

Have you checked the dampness of your hatching medium? If that single egg puffed up again in the new container it might be that the old medium was too dry. It can suck moisture from the eggs. There is a fine line between too much and too little.

Just an idea.

Stefan I know what you mean. I have 3 pgymy egg's I keep checking and thinking about tossing but just can't do it yet. Best of luck with yours.

Thanks guys. Naomi I'm not sure beause the other eggs look great. Maybe I should move them with the other egg. I am going to see how this goes for now.

That reminds me of the time a friend of mine had a Rhacodactylus chahoua egg and kept it even though it was moldy. It did not get any better - lol! They ended up cutting it in half - was extremely tough. The egg shell is very thick. Anyways, it was molded and no good ha ha.

I just got home and checked the other 3. they looked just like that 1. They started to collapse but no mold and yellow color. So i moved them in with that first 1 i saved and added 3 or so more drops of water. Wish me luck guys. I cant lose this eggs
