Don't think Tepesh liked being outside

So today is a sunny beautiful day so we decided to take Tepesh outside for the first time. We have had him a couple of weeks and he is 6 months old.

As soon as we go outside he turns completely brown and will not move off of the stick we have for him to hold on to. I do have a new small zoo med reptiscreen I have to put together so they can do their own thing and not be carried around but don't understand why he got so upset.

I guess a new thing just scared my little guy, enough I didn't even try to take Fiona out until I get the repti-screen built.[/ATTACH]

Imagine you've lived all your life with known boundaries to your space... And then all of a sudden THERE'S NO CEILING!!! You'd be a little freaked out too :D

Baby steps. My little guy freaked out during his first ever outside time, but after several trips and lots of opportunities to look through open windows, he has come to love natural air and sun. He still gets nervous about cars, airplanes, and birds, and having a leafy plant (not just sticks) seems to make him much more comfortable.

Just never leave him without supervision. There are too many horror stories here of "but I only went inside for a minute" or "but he never left the tree before".

lol I think he will be better to adjust in the repti-screen also! He is really good about being held and will come on to our hands to come out of his cage but yeah I can see how that would freak a cham out!!

I would never leave him alone I once walked outside to find a hawk swooping down to pick up my toy fox terrier!! I was a crazy woman on wheels to get to her and luckily the hawk seen the crazy woman also and thought better!

So yeah only one minute could be bad!

My guy likes it when I throw some bluebottle flies in the outside cage- He was a bit timid at first - until he caught site of the the fly

Ohhh the good old days lol I remember my chameleon would do the same. It takes some time for them to get use to the outside.
