Here he is... I think hes around a year and 4 months old. But he is literally STILL turning orange... very weird. he is also very big, about 16 inches long but big boned and weighes well over 200g. eats about 12 crickets a day lol The picture of him when hes really orange is him about a week ago. the picture with him on top of a bird cage is from about 4 months ago (or more) when i got him.. as you can see, he changed pretty drastically. never seen a color change this drastic and these are pretty much his resting colors.. i am so thank ful for this guy and will be breeding him but just don't know what locale female to get!!

what a beautiful guy! my guy Cuprian (avatar pic) is almost 4 months old and he is colorimg up like crazy! hope he gets as nice looking!

thanks everyone. but I don't know what locale or cross locale he even is... I know he is ambanja because of his giant blue spkes but I don't know what locale he is crossed with or maybe hes just a crazy ambanja. Look up previous threads with double rainbow and you wil see all the weird color phases he went through.

and just so everyone knows, the picture of him in the middle (On top of the bird cage) is from months ago lol he has changed into an orange beast. i have never seen this before. I got my other red bar ambilobe and he was the same color ever since he was a year old and hasnt really changed much besides getting brighter.

BTW this guy hasnt shed ever since I got him which is also very weird. He shed the end of his tail and his feet and thats it. lol also very strange

It is not at all uncommon for crosses to change dramatically. Don't worry about it - enjoy it! :)

if i were to guess i would say he is a tamatave ambanja cross.. just my guess but only the breeder knows for sure. its funny i have seen alot of chams that look to have the look of tamatave in thier colouration. mostly ambilobes. i really like the look of this guy.:D

thanks, i really like him too. just so cool to hold a big cham like him. and yeah trust me in not worried, its awesome;) . the only thing im actually worried about somewhat is that he hasn't shed in a while (a new record time compared to any of my other chams) .

yes people have told me he is tamatave cross. he actually fires up kind of white around the belly area whenever i put him in the bathroom for a steam sesh. but he has these GIANT blue spikes! they are about 3mm at the highest, almost like a colorful iguana. my ambilobes have very small spikes and so does my nosey be. so that has me thinking hes ambanja because I've noticed theirs are usually big and blue. but yeah I guess i will never know unless the breeder comes out of hiding. I mean, I have all of his previous threads when he was in california. it shows all of his pics from when he was like 4 months old ill post it if anyones interested.
