Dragon Ledges

I won't let that happen again. I ruined myself on snakes. Once I hit 100 with a full time job and a family, it was no fun anymore. Hatching time pretty much DID send me running and screaming! I honestly don't think I'll allow myself to go over 20. I want to be able to keep it enjoyable.

Chams take a lot more work than snakes. You may find 20 to be a lot of work! See I tried to save you from yourself!

Thanks Laurie, but I'll have the time now as I am a disabled vet and stay at home dad these days. My boy is in school now too, so I think I' ll have more time to spend on chameleons than I did snakes. Obviously I won't have 20 all at once as I'd have to mortgage the house just to buy all the set ups! Lol. Seriously though, if I find it getting to be too much, I'll scale back from whatever level I'm at. I really want this to be enjoyable and I've learned a bit from my snake breeding days. I certainly won't be hatching more than a couple of clutches a year as the care is MUCH more in depth than snakes. What I like so far is the many facets of the hobby. I'm really enjoying the feeder colony part of it as well as the bioactive enclosures. Also, I am a pretty good woodworker, so I am looking forward to building a few custom display enclosures. Gotta keep busy now that I'm retired, or I'll get fat and lazy!
On another note, how is your Parsons doing and when did you actually get to take possession of him?

I've made similar mistakes in the past with getting in over my head to the point it's not enjoyable. I already want close to 10 chams as it is now lol and I'm fairly new with them.

Titan is great! That is if you want some lovely eye candy! He will eat from my hand, and if food is not a part of my interactions - well there are no interactions! He is happy in his own world, and since his whole environment is automatic, he really doesn't need or want anything except a system to deliver his food - that is me. Oh he also allows me the honor of cleaning his world. I really do love him!
