Dragon Strand?

Here's a side by side comparison of a 2x2x4 screen cage and the large clear-side Dragonstrand. In this pic I'm not finished decorating the Dragonstrand, but it's a useful comparison.

Yeah that's what i was thinking. I use the great stuff personally, but if that's what it is i'm wondering what he coated it with. Turned out nice!

I bought a Medium Atrium not to long ago. The service was great, before I even received the cage, Bill emailed me saying mine may be missing the screws for the dragon ledges and he shipped them out without knowing if it was mine or someone else's that were missing them. The cage is well constructed and easy to put together. When I have more room for another cham I will definitely be buying from him again.

He is actually a she :p My husband created my screen name years ago and I just never changed it. However, he did all the work on the cage. We have another one in progress and he swears he's taking pics step by step so I can make a blog, but we're about 2/3 done that one. We put black silicon down, then used plastic egg crate, cut in shapes to give some defination. On top of that is great stuff that was then sanded down to be smoother. On top of that is more black silicon and then coco fiber to top it off. We are going for a natural wall, but all the plants are actually in pots, inside of OTHER pots so they can be switched out as needed. The pothos and ivy are really working well as covering, and I've put some of the other plants that I'm starting from cuttings in pots on the bottom where they get watered by the run off of the misters. We are going to add LED lights to help the plants, and we are hand-misting the plants themselves regularly. Feel free to PM me with more questions if you'd like.

I should add that the grapevine branch is "planted" in the foam for stability, and then we strung biovines throughout to make highways.

I see that they have a new atrium cage that is about 4ft wide, 2ft deep, and 4ft tall. I'd love to get it, but it's all screen and I like their combination breeder series with the covered sides. Hopefully they'll make more models.

The atrium comes in a clearside version with the clear PVC walls and one screen wall with the screen top.

Please start a thread on this build. :notworthy: I'm considering the same cage from Dragon Strand. That's the first "real' one I've seen other than the images on the web site that directly compares it to the standard 2x2x4 cage.

I promise I will, however it's still "season" down here in Florida, so I'm working 55+ hour weeks, and time is limited. I'm happy to answer any questions in the meantime though!

If I buy one of those aged that is 4ft wide, 4ft tall, 2ft deep, is it good to have double the amount of lighting?

I bought a 36" hood and linear UVB to go in it. It doesn't overhang the edges and gives Sunny an "escape" from UVB if you will. Also, since the sides are planted and coco fibered, you really don't need it to go edge to edge. It will also depend on how much you take your cham outside to enjoy the natural sunlight.
