Dragonstrand Clear side.

I was wondering if anyone has a Dragonstrand Clear sided enclosure?

I am wondering what the clear vinyl or PVC or whatever is like. Does it scratch easily? Is it very transparent?

I am curious if I would be better off getting the clear side, or replacing the screen with Scratch Resistant Acrylic.

I have the clear side and I love it. I only use distilled water to prevent spotting on the plastic. The plastic is a vinyl type material and doesn't scratch but can be punctured. You just have to be mindful of that. It seemed tough but I treat it like its tissue paper just in case. I love the look of it. It looks super clear and clean

I like them, no issues with mine. Have a 2x2x4 in clear side and a quite a few of the breeder cages with clear doors for my quads. Have accidentally made pretty good contact while moving branches around but it held up fine. It's strong stuff my oldest Panther who can stick his claws through a mistking irrigation line hasn't punctured it yet but claws at it occasionally when I'm passing with a female.

I also have the clear sided enclosure. I like it . I use R/O water to clean the sides. I don't see that it spots or scratches easily. My male Panther 8months old just started scratching on the three sides of it and no issues . I had a branch unknowingly pushing on the side of it, left for a couple of days. I moved it because I was afraid it would poke through. Bill at Dragon Strand is the best and he stands behind his products.

I have had a Clearside for about 10 months and it has been great. I run distilled water through the mister to prevent spotting. Clean the plastic with a microfiber or cotton cloth, not paper towel. The chameleon's claws don't scratch it, and it took a few good pokes with sticks while I was setting it up without breaking. The plastic tends to stretch rather than puncture, and so far the stretches have been elastic and returned to flat.

I want to get the clear sided enclosure as well and was wondering these things. I'm new and don't mean to hijack. I apologize to the OP if i'm straying from the subject, just figured i shouldn't make a new thread about the same/similar question so, Do the clear sides cause any ventilation issues and which would you guys recommend for a male panther's lifespan?

They are well designed to avoid stagnant air, one entire side plus the top is screen. I have an adult Panther in a 2x2x4 clear sided and he seems to love it. One of the atrium cages would be even more space for a male Panther to roam, he will use as much as you give him. I've found my male panthers to be among the most active of my chameleons and really will benefit from a large enclose and ample free ranging time.
