Drainage Methods

I have a few questions about keeping humidity up. I plan on having an all screen enclosure; but the cold dry winters on western PA present a challenge. How could I keep the humidity up in my enclosure during these dry months? Would something like plastic shower curtains wrapped around the screen work?

Also, any DIY ways to handle drainage without an elaborate expensive dainage system would help me greatly.

I also plan on keeping several live plants in the enclosure.

im not so sure about your humidity question but as far as drainage goes i have actually been thinking about the same thing. The best i have come up with so just to simply buy whatever size tube you might want to catch any drainage and build a simple frame that your enclosure would sit on top of and the tub could slide in and out of. Let me know if you get any good answers for humidity. I am in indiana and we get the same conditions!

I've just set the enclosure on top of a large shallow tray, tapped into the side and added a secondary container. Cost 20 bucks.

You might want to look at LLLReptiles water trays for screen cages! ($28.00) I got 3 of them, just drill a hole out the lower part of 1 side, insert plastic tubing and run it into a 5 gallon bucket ($3.00) Also you can buy plastic sheeting at any hardware store and cut to fit cheep! start by covering 1 side and back of cage and if humidity is to low you can always cover the other side. You will find lots of good ideas just by looking at threads and the pictures often attached!!! hope this helps :)

For humidity - You can get an Ultra-Sonic humidifier at Walgreens and rig it up with a timer, silicon, and PVC pipe.

Here's a simple draining system I put together for less than $20, and it works perfectly. All i did was buy a 5 gallon bucket, and a 4' x 8' sheet of cheep plastic from the area by the bathtubs in Home Depot:
