Drainage!

You are going to need a drainage system. Many people that have the 24X24X48 inch cages use a washing machine pan underneath their cages to collect the excess. There is a good thread on drainage at the top of the enclosures and supplies section.

Dragonstrand sells a keeper drip tray that is amazing. I'm currently using it. And have zero water issues despite housing my Jackson's which takes a lot of water .I use a shop vac to get out all the water every 3 days.

I drilled holes in the bottom panel of my enclosure then use a container to catch the excess water. My enclosure sits on a small wire rack with the cage on top shelf and the container below it.
Good idea but the bottom is flat.not all of the fluid will drain.

The catch pans most keepers use are slightly bigger than the enclosures are in width and depth. I use a setup just like Crashbandit05. Got a plastic storage bin that is bigger than the 24" x 24" footprint of my cage. No puddles!

The only issue i have is some overspray from my misters.

I drain into a bucket below the cage. Drain is in the front right corner. Easy enough to shim the tray underneath to direct the water if necessary.

I also glued a bulkhead fitting below the hole in tray for the water to guide the flow into the bucket. Just to make sure water doesn’t creep along the underside of the tray...

Figured I'd add some pics....I hot glued some dirt on top of the bulkhead to help hide it a bit as well. All the water flows towards this corner for drainage. I used to have the bulkhead top mounted but the lip prevented getting all the water drained so I moved it underneath and glued it in place.
