Drinking?

Many people say that their chameleons drink straight off of leaves. But my 1 year old veiled chameleon just shoots at water droplets instead of going up to a leaf. Is this normal? I'm just not sure if he's getting enough water this way.

Yes, this is perfectly normal. My guy actually does' both and they tend to drink when no one is looking. The best way to determine hydration is by the color of their urates. White means they are hydrated, while an orange urate is a sign of dehydration. A slightly tinted orange is also Okay.

As chamDE86 says, mine does both also, they do tend to drink while you're not looking. Make sure to examine you're chameleons urate often :)
