Drip/Rain VS Misting

I know im new in the Chameleon world, but I thought I would ask a decent question based on an observation that I made with Karma. I need to decide what type of "watering" system to implement into her new shower enclosure.

I would mist 3-4 times per day, giving all of the leaves of her cabella tree good sized drops.

I recently installed a drip system with a "modified" hampster water bottle (i hit the edge with a hammer to keep the ball back). She seems very interested in the drip, and has been chillin out where the drop hits a leaf.

I read a thread where some people like large drops when misting to make it more like rain.

My question is, when installing this new system...should I make it mist in the enclosure, or have a slight rain several times a day?

Operating the misting system a couple of times a day for a few minutes each would be a good idea.

Howdy Luke,

How about both mist and rain :). I'd even lean more towards the rainy side or at least fat mist combined with rain. Also, if you are adding heat to your water, larger droplets will tend to hold more of the heat.

if you ever encounter a situation as to what to do if both options are suitable think of which one is more related to natural weather in the climate of the critter

Well, natural climate (Yemen)...it does not rain very often. Apparently they get a good soaking from the fog the rolls over the land and moistens everything down. I suppose you did help me answer my own question (along with Dave's input).

I will add a misting system, and maybe every other day have it "rain." It may look like this.

All that in the space of a shower?

I would say that is a bit overkill.

Your cham needs a place to escape the mist/rain. They aren't fish ;).
