Drip system and drainage tables

Dude AWESOME video I cant wait to hook up my drain tables that you built me:D The drip system is Genus I remember seeing that when we were over there:D

How long have you been running the drippers like this? How much pressure does the pump generate?

I tried to do something similar but the pump filled a reservoir. That way the pump only had to run long enough to fill the reservoir. I had lots of problems with air in the line.

Right now i use an Oasis dripper meant for plants. It is a closed loop system so air is not a problem but it only has four preprogrammed timings. I ended up building a relay circuit to work around that but i would love to come up with something simpler while still reliable.

I setup the dripper in the summer of 2009 so it has been going a couple of years without any problems. Air in the line does not make a difference. The water is pushed all the way around to the last cage and I can adjust the drip with either the dripper head or the inline valves. I take the pump and run it through a bleach solution once a month to make sure it is not getting nasty. The only maintenance issue has been replacing a couple of the adjustable drippers that got a little calcified. I have the dripper always on auto and run it manually when I am in the room for a while and hand mist a couple times a day as well.

Reptoman,
Very nice set up. Thank you so much for sharing. I think I've watched the video 5 or 6 times now. The auto dripper is a fabulous idea....

Aren't the Mag pumps as expensive as a mistking? I know I paid $75 for my last mag 5.

I tried this drip system settup with an Eheim 1250 that I got from a calcium reactor. I do not recommend Eheims for this application.

Probably would be as expensive but I already had this pump. I ran 2 cages on a smaller cheaper pump but put in the mag since i upgraded to a larger reef and had a spare. If you put the pump on the level of the drippers you would not need much pressure at all to push across to several cages so could run with a smaller cheaper pump. Its just me but I prefer the dripper to an automister. That might change if I get a mistking for christmas this year:D
