5 min seems a bit excessive me. Even with an auto mister I don’t do 5min, let alone if I had a hand pump + standing over the cage for 5 min misting away. Several times a day whenever I wonder by the cages (when I did it by hand) I would mist for a min or so in each cage. Also, 5min worth of mist is a lot of water! Should you choose to go that route make sure you have a good drainage system set up to rid yourself of the extra.
Fill up your dripper in the morning and let it drip all day long. Or fill it when you get home and let it go the second half, whichever you like… Mist the cage at least 2-3 times a day, but it you are near it and doing nothing feel free to give it another shot.
