Not at all. I am not a fan of drippers myself. But, I would suggest you changing your misting times from 6 seconds every hour to twice a day for a couple of minutes. It can take a minute to trigger the drinking reflex of chameleons.

sorry i meant to say 60 seconds i do it for, forgot the zero haha

I run my fogger 5 times a day for 4 minutes each time. She is now in a larger 24x24x48" enclosure so I upped it a little. I still have a dropper which I find a pain, but if everyone agrees it's not needed I am more than willing to quit. So come on everyone...what about foggers. Note: mine is attached to a PVC pipe with holes drilled every couple of inches and it runs across the top of the cage.

I am one of those people that are pro cool mist humidifiers. I don't use them on my veiled chameleons, but I do use them on all my montane enclosures. I am still trying to find one that is strong enough to fill my greenhouse. I have seen some on youtube, but they are old finds..not new models.

I just don't like drippers because to me, if you are misting, it is unnecessary.

I think there's no one right answer. Some of my chameleons drink enough just from three misting sessions a day, and some don't (judging from the colors of their urates), for those which don't, i supplemented with hand sprays and drippers

If you have chameleons that don't hydrate enough off three misting sessions, I would just add more sessions or increase the time on each interval before I would add a dripper.

I'm going to have to agree with everyone else here that drippers are not necessary IF misting is being done properly.. BUT I will add that in my own personal experience I do keep the dripper ONLY because I have seen my veiled drink from it numerous times and I figured if he likes it then it's worth it. He also drinks when our homemade misting apparatus goes off (a few times a day for three minutes each time).. and we also sometimes supplement with hand mistings in between IF his urates haven't been white enough lately (which doesn't really happen anymore now that we have had him for awhile and he has settled in and isn't so sensitive to the misting sessions, which was something he used to run and hide from). We also hand mist everyone once in awhile if his enclosure is completely dry. I think it all boils down to what works well for you, and more importantly, what is working well for your cham. :)

Your guy is a beautiful little fella!
