I just got my dubia colony up to speed , so i am not that experienced .. but i know they lay that egg sack , it gets fertilized & then they retract it . The babies then hatch out i think 30 days later . If you look , any gravid female will have a white blob .

what do you mean a white blob?

thanks yall for the answers! i hope its eggs. my jackson cham doesnt like the big fellas very much so im running low on the lil ones.

It is a egg sack.

They are formed, then excreted (they are fertilized at this point) then taken back into the female for incubation. ;)

This means they are breeding, and you have babies on the way. :)

I had one female abort one of those sacks - the babies were all partially formed and lined up like bread rolls are packed at the bakery, lol! Here's a pic of it - I take pics of just about everything! They usually come in very handy too, lol!:D

It's an ootheca (egg case/sack.) The push them out after breeding and then retract it for the babies to develop. If it stays out for several hours and she doesn't pull it back in or push it out herself, you can very gently and slowly pull it out yourself. If you don't there is the possibility that she will accidentally push out her brood pouch (where it would normally retract to.) If this happens, it is very unlikely that she will live. If she does live, she wouldn't be able to reproduce again.

wow thanks yall!! i hope i didnt distrub any mating when i opened the cage up. i guess we will find out sooner or later! :]

The first time I saw this I thought it was some kind of parasite and was ready to throw my whole colony out!!
