dubia

okay iv'e researched the dubia roaches as a food for my chameleon but have also figured that they can be quite expensive, any suggestions for where i can get them cheap (and hopefully still alive)

I am not sure of any sites for the states, but go a search. They are illegal to ship/or sell in Canada so I don't know for sure.
As for alive, they can live up to a year and temperature range is large so as long as you don't order to an area that is below freezing you are ok.

Check the classifieds here on the forums. There's always some there but they will not ship until the weather is cooler.

I can't remember where I got mine at, but I got 100 mixed for around $40 with shipping. All I do to take care of them is have a ceramic lamp and apples changed out every couple days in a black plastic bin. The less light the better.

hey, McCoy if you do get them, be careful if you decide to do some gutloading. from the times i experimented, their packaging should read "caution, may explode under pressure." cleaning rep poop is one thing, but half digested carrot and guts... ):

I found this thread very informative. I didn't realize that those of us who live in FL could order discoids. I've already placed my order, and I'm looking forward to having the new food source for my cham. Thank you. :)
