Dubia

So I havent added heat yet to my colony ( waiting on some spare cash) yet I have one that seems prolapsed. Doesn't look like regular ootheca, almost looks as if it has exploaded. Is she trying to lay? Or has the ootheca gone bad?

Can anyone suggest how to add heat to the bin? Right now I have it on carpet at room temperature, worried a mat might start a fire if placed under.

Also, they don't seem to like Raspheys Superload and ignore the veggies I put in. They love the oranges though, any suggestions on either would be greatly appreciated :)

Try carrots they have a lot of nutritional things like calciu. I dunk mine under water my colony of about 100 roaches eats 3baby carrots every 2-3days mine also like oatmeal. As for temps idk because I have not had mine for more than a month or so. I'd imagine they would just not breed during winter if it got to cold!

Mix in some raw sugar or bee pollen. As for food intake, my 1500 mixed only eat 2-3 ice cube sized hunks of veg a day, along with a 1/3-1/2 cup of alfalfa mix.
