YEs.. but, personally, i hate lobster. Yechhh.
I would opt for Dubia anytime.

dubias are great if they will eat them and easy to keep. Lobster Roaches can climb making them less desirable. Harder to keep in the container.

Dubias all the way.

I have both....dubias are cool. Some chams dont eat them, on the other hand they cant resist a lobster. I keep them contained by putting vasaline on the rim of the container.

hi Adam,

New Lobster Roach Colony

Hey guys,

I just started my lobster roach colony, I've had it for about 2 weeks now. I have them in a 20 gallon aquarium. Just wondering is it normal that some are dying and eating each other? It's not that many, maybe 7 at the most. I do have water and food provided to them at all times. I'm using a 75 watt light bulb on them. Could it be that it's too hot. I know that the hotter it is the faster they breed. Thanks for your help! :)

Here's some pics. Enjoy!! :D

They are probably hungry and that's why you see them eating each other... All I see in there is large dog kibbles. Those need to be ground into a fine powder for the roaches to eat. Grind up some dog kibble mixed with dry breakfast cereals and grains with a coffee grinder or a blender.

Well I've seen them eat the dog food, but I will try grinding it down. Hopefully that will help. So, then the heat is not a problem right?

Thanks

Try feeding them a variety of foods. Fruits and veggies, grains or cereals. Try cutting up an orange and stick it in with them and watch them go crazy! As far as the temps, have you checked what the temp in there was? I think 80-90 is fine. You don't want it too hot because they will try to escape and oh my you don't want that!

Thanks, I have fed them apples and carrots so far, and they like them. I'll have to go shopping for oranges cuz I don't have any. :p As far as temp, the last time I checked it was about 89. I'll check it again tomorrow, but then again it really won't be consistent because my freaken AC broke 2 days ago. It's burning hot in here. Hopefully that will get fixed soon. I'm so melting!!

lobsters........ahhh i hate them. bought 3,000 of them a month ago now i have about 5,000 i just want to get rid of them! use anything else but lobster.
