dubias and temperatures...

So... Im not able to have my dubias inside no matter what... house rules -_-
Temperatures outside right now are around 59 F...
Im gonna be buying heat matts or something this week...
will this temperatures kill my dubias?
I know they wont be breeding, it doesnt matter right now.... Im just worried about them dying...

You're pressing the limits. You might get away with it for a couple nights, but I'd suggest getting a heat mat under it and wrap it in some kind of insulation ASAP. My colony did fine in my garage in the low 50's when I wrapped the tub up and kept the heat on it. But as soon as the ol' lady said that her Dog was coming in the house, I was happy to inform my roaches that the ice ages were over!
 
I figured out something...
I took the dubias inside my closet, in a locked small place...
The bad thing is that they wont have much ventilation... I can open it daily and ventilate the tank...
is that ok??

I keep mine in a closet every winter. As long as there is a screened area on their container they will be just fine!
 
dubia roaches, the latest thing for cricket replacements. Also called green banana beetles, and pill bugs, or anything you can pawn off on the family to not call them roaches.
