Dubias wont eat

They are alive as when you touch them they move. I don't have many so they probably wont die before I feed them to my cham but I wanted to get some good nutrients in them first. All the bugs I buy eat loads of variety but these don't. It's so bizarre.

my dubias are eating at room temperature, about 71 this morning and they are eating their carrots and apples, i actually just chopped up a couple of baby carrots and threw them in and they all ran for them, now is it better to use whole carrot slices or shavings?

I would think that carrot shavings would be easier for them to eat but carrot slices would probably last longer by not drying out as fast. Jameleon, are you breeding your dubia's? if so you will need to add some heat because dubias can't/won't breed unless the temps are kept higher.

Nah im not breeding them yet, i got them from a friend to try and see if my cham likes them, and it definetly does haha, more than crickets. I already have half of what i need to start a colony, i just need to get myself a heat lamp and then ill be good :)

when you are ready to start breeding them,
instead of a heatlamp I would try using a heating pad (one without automatic shutoff) underneath the roach bin. they sell sunbeam brand ones at shoppers drugmart for about $15.
