Dull Ambilobe Male

I have a blue bar ambilobe male that I had purchased a year back now. He is closing in on 15 months old and has quite dull coloration in respect to my other males. Even when put within viewing distance of another male or a female he does not fire up as he should. Has anyone else encountered a dull male like this?

Yeah I saw the sire. I always make sure to do so when I buy a cham to at least have a general idea of what they will look like. I bought him from Screameleons but in no way do I believe it is their fault since all the other chams I have from them are absolutely gorgeous. I just think that maybe he is dull. No one could have known when he was a juvie. He has awesome markings and his coloration would be very beautiful if it would brighten up but it just stays light and somewhat dull like I said. I will post pics tonight if I get a chance.

Mine is the same way. He is about 14 months old, and still pretty light compared to almost all the other panther chams I see. I've seen the sire of mine also, and siblings, all of which had GREAT color. I wonder if it's just a fluke thing that they are lighter, or maybe it's just a phase they will grow out of?

Does he go outside for natural sunlight? That may brighten him up a bit.
Every Cham is different, like us. Kath.
